The Idea of an AI Agent That Knows Me
When I began exploring LangChain and LangSmith, an idea started to take shape in my mind: what if my personal website could do more than display information? What if visitors could simply have a conversation and learn about me through an AI agent?
As a software engineer with over 16 years of experience, I saw this as an opportunity to combine my professional background with my growing interest in AI.
That idea became the first version of jcus.link.
Rather than building a traditional portfolio website, I wanted to create a personal web application powered by AI. The core concept was simple: recruiters, hiring managers, or anyone interested in my background could chat directly with an AI agent. Instead of reading through static pages, they could ask questions naturally and receive answers about my experience, projects, skills, and career journey.
Behind the scenes, the AI agent connects to my MCP services and retrieves relevant information about me through similarity searches. The agent is intentionally focused on a single purpose: helping visitors understand who I am, what I have built, and what I have learned throughout my career.
At the same time, the project serves as a practical demonstration of my ability to design and integrate modern AI solutions.
Building this project also pushed me to deepen my knowledge of React and the broader AI ecosystem. Although I ultimately did not use LangChain directly in this version of the application, the concepts I learned from studying it heavily influenced the architecture and direction of the project.
One of the most memorable moments was creating the logo. I asked Gemini to generate it, and I was genuinely surprised by the result. The logo perfectly captured the spirit of the website and the idea behind it. It felt as if the AI understood exactly what I was trying to build.

As AI-assisted design tools continued to evolve, I became fascinated by what they could achieve. When Claude Design emerged, I started experimenting with it to see how far AI could push the boundaries of web design and user experience.
Around that time, I discovered @Pliny The Liberator on X. He leaked Anthropic's Claude Design prompt, a remarkably detailed system prompt containing nearly 10,000 words of instructions. Curious about its capabilities, I used those ideas as inspiration while redesigning the website.
The result is the version you see today: a cleaner, more refined, and more engaging experience that reflects both my technical background and my exploration of AI-assisted design.
What began as a simple idea while learning LangChain eventually became much more than a portfolio website. It became a place where visitors can interact with an AI agent that represents my experience, my work, and my ongoing journey as an engineer exploring the future of AI.
